A book by Irina Petrosyan

You were never shy.
You were hiding.

Make a Scene is a do-it-as-you-read guide to real confidence, for women who've spent years making themselves smaller, smoother, and easier to like. Not affirmations, not journal entries. You build it by making things and surviving being seen, one small task at a time.

Make a Scene book cover
This book is for you if…

If even one of these is you, keep reading. I wrote this for you.

The result

What actually changes

Not a new personality. Just a lot less flinching.

A look inside

What's in the book

Part One

Why We Hide

Where the shrinking started, and who taught you to do it.

Part Two

Why Visibility Matters

What staying hidden is quietly costing you.

Part Three

What We Reclaim

The parts that got locked away, and how to take them back.

Part Four

How We Express

Making things, putting them into the world, and becoming your own muse.

It gets into the stuff most confidence books skip: your body, your voice, desire, shame, and the specific, itchy embarrassment of wanting attention and hating that you want it.

The whole thing

About the author

Hey, I'm Irina.

For most of my life I was the insecure one. I performed confidence I didn't have and hid everything that felt too real, too much, too me. I sucked my stomach in, airbrushed my photos, and couldn't say what I actually wanted out loud.

I'm not her anymore. Not because I got fixed, but because I figured out how it actually works, how you go from hiding to expressed, and how the confidence shows up once you do. That's the part I couldn't shut up about. So I put it in a book, for you.

Creativity isn't a hobby. It's a way of life. It's been with me through grief, through heartbreak, through the good times, and it's the thing that made me feel like I could survive all of it. It's where my confidence came from.

The confidence that got me singing my own songs on stage in front of a live audience, and racking up millions of views on my videos, is the same confidence that had me move across the world on my own and build a whole life in Bali. Not because I set out to be brave. Because when you stop performing and start expressing, you stop asking permission to live.

Questions

Is this only for creative people?

No. If you think you're "not the creative type," that belief is one of the first things the book takes apart. You don't need to make art. You need to stop hiding.

Do I need to post online or have an audience?

No. Nothing in here requires a platform or a following. The point is expressing yourself, wherever that happens to land.

Is it a workbook?

Part read, part do. It reads like a book, but most chapters hand you something to try. You'll get more out of it if you actually do them.

Does it talk about sex?

Yes, and frankly. Desire and sexuality are part of the conversation, alongside your body, your voice and your creativity. If honest, explicit talk about sex isn't for you, this book probably isn't either.

How long is it?

78 pages, 13 short chapters. An afternoon if you're bingeing, a slow week if you're doing the work.

Can I preview it first?

Yes. Chapter one is free. Read it before you buy.

Can I get a refund?

No, it's a digital download, so all sales are final. That's exactly why chapter one is free, read it first.

Stop waiting to feel ready.

There's a louder, stranger, more expressive version of you in there. This is how you let her out.
